Baykar, a leading company in the national defense industry, has successfully completed the High Altitude System Performance Test of its domestically developed and original Bayraktar TB3 UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). The national UAV, which underwent mid-altitude performance tests after its first flight on October 27, 2023, as a gift for the 100th anniversary of the Republic, has now successfully completed tests measuring the system and endurance performance at high altitudes. During the flight at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu, Tekirdağ, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV reached an altitude of 30,000 feet, demonstrating its proficiency in the High Altitude System Performance Test. The UAV, equipped with the PD-170 engine developed locally by TEI, successfully completed all the tests measuring high-altitude system and endurance performance during the high-altitude flight test.

First Flight from TCG ANADOLU in 2024

The Bayraktar TB3 UAV, with its foldable wing structure, will be the world's first armed UAV capable of taking off and landing from short-runway ships like TCG Anadolu. Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board and Technology Leader of Baykar, announced plans to begin testing the Bayraktar TB3 on the TCG Anadolu ship in 2024. The capabilities of the Bayraktar TB3 will represent a significant innovation in the class of unmanned aerial vehicles. With beyond-line-of-sight communication capabilities, the national UAV can be controlled from very long distances, providing a deterrent impact for Turkey against overseas targets by executing reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, and attack missions.

Export Champion

Baykar, which has carried out all its projects from the beginning with its own resources, achieved 83% of its income from exports since the start of the UAV R&D process in 2003. According to the data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) in 2021 and 2022, Baykar became the export leader in the defense and aviation sector. Declared the export champion of the sector by the Presidency of Defense Industries in 2023, Baykar realized an export of 1.8 billion dollars last year. With more than 90% of its revenue coming from exports in recent years, Baykar single-handedly accounted for one-third of the defense and aviation sector's exports in 2023. Export agreements have been signed with a total of 34 countries, including 33 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and 9 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI UAV.
